Sweet Potato Fries

Sweet Potato Fries - Rebekah and her Ramblings. A fun to make and fun to eat crispy sweet potato fry!I love sweet potato fries! There was a place I used to go an eat in Austin that had delicious wraps and sweet potato fries, and I haven’t found another place that can duplicate their fries. I found this super cool recipe for homemade fries, but they’re pull apart! So basically, you cut the potato almost all the way through and then pull the fries apart as you eat them when the time is right. Amazing and fun! This recipe is super easy, make sure to whip some of these bad boys up this weekend, would go great with just about anything you throw on the grill for the 4th! AND it’s gluten free!! #winning

Sweet Potato Fries

Serves: 1
Prep Time: 5 minutes      Cook Time: 30-45 minutes

What you need:

  • one sweet potato, one that you can wrap your hand around when you hold it, not much bigger
  • salt
  • vegetable oil

Directions:

  • Preheat the oven to 400*
  • Sweet Potato Fries - Rebekah and her Ramblings. A fun to make and fun to eat crispy sweet potato fry!Cut the sweet potato about 5 or 6 times long wise. You don’t want to cut all the way through, but you want to come very close. Then cut the potato several times short wise. The cuts depend on how big you want your fries, I recommend thinner
  • Drizzle vegetable oil all over the potato, making sure it gets in every row. Repeat with the salt
  • Bake for at least 30 minutes, adding more time based on the size of your potato. The outer edges of mine were pretty good after 30, but the middle wasn’t, so I cooked for about 40 minutes and the whole thing was the perfect texture
